FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything small business owners ask us before starting a project. Pricing, timelines, how edits work, and what makes a hand-coded site different. Don't see your question? Reach out at [email protected] and we'll answer it personally.
Pricing & Plans
Everything it takes to keep your site running and improving. Hosting on a secure, global network, SSL, ongoing SEO, security monitoring, and website edits are all included — no separate hosting bill, no plugin subscriptions, no surprise invoices. You get a real person to call when you need a change.
The Starter Plan includes 3 edits per month; Growth includes unlimited edits plus a chat widget and more. You email us what you want changed and we handle it. The only thing billed separately is your domain registration.
Websites start at $1,000 up front plus $59/month. That's the Starter plan: a 3-page custom site with hosting, SEO, a contact form, and 3 edits per month. Growth is $2,000 setup plus $79/month for a 5-page site with unlimited edits, a chat widget, and Google review automation. Ecommerce is $3,500 setup plus $99/month for a custom Shopify store. Extra pages are $100 each.
Our agreement runs month-to-month after launch, and you can cancel any time — your cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term. We also back every project with a money-back guarantee: if we can't design something you love, we refund the setup fee in full and cancel the contract, no hard feelings.
Start with how many pages you need and how often you'll want changes. If you're a service business that needs a clean, credible site — home, services, contact — Starter covers it. If you're actively marketing and expect to update pages, add landing pages, or want customers chatting and leaving reviews from the site, Growth is the better fit, and unlimited edits pay for themselves quickly. If you're selling products online, Ecommerce is the one.
If none of them fit, we'll quote custom pricing based on the scope of the project. Not sure? Reach out and we'll tell you honestly which one you need.
We bill through Stripe. Your setup fee arrives as a secure payment link by email, and your monthly plan bills automatically on the same date each month so there's nothing to remember.
Stripe accepts all major credit and debit cards. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems — we never see or store them.
Yes, always. Your domain is yours and stays yours. If you registered it yourself, nothing changes.
The same goes for your logo, your photos, and the written content you gave us. Those are your business assets, not ours.
Working Together
Most sites launch in 2 to 4 weeks. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly you get us your content: text, photos, logo, etc. Once we have those, we build a first design for you to review, make revisions until it's right, then launch. Shopify stores can take a bit longer depending on product data, shipping setup, and app configuration.
Less than you'd think. Ideally: your logo, any photos you want to use, a rough idea of the pages you need, and a few sites you like the look of. If you don't have photos or a logo yet, that's fine — we'll source quality stock imagery and work around it. We'll also ask a handful of questions about your customers and what you want the site to do, then handle everything from there.
Within 24 hours, guaranteed. You're not filing a ticket or talking to a support bot. You're emailing the owner and developer directly. Most edit requests are done the same day or the next.
We handle edits for you — that's what the monthly plan is for. Email us the change and it's usually live the same day, no logins to remember and nothing you can accidentally break. Starter includes 3 edits per month; Growth includes unlimited.
Shopify stores are the exception: your products, collections, pricing, and inventory are fully editable by you in the Shopify admin, and we walk you through exactly how it all works before launch.
How We Build
No. Every site we build is hand-coded from scratch. Page builders like Wix and Squarespace lock you into their templates and platform, and WordPress sites depend on a stack of plugins that need constant updating and are the most common way small business sites get hacked.
Building by hand means your site is faster, more secure, and looks like your business instead of a template thousands of other companies are using.
It means we write the actual code behind your website line by line instead of dragging blocks around in a template builder. Practically, that gets you three things:
Your site loads faster because there's no bloated builder code or plugin overhead weighing down every page — and page speed is a Google ranking factor. It's more secure, because there's no database, no admin login, and no plugins to exploit. And the design isn't limited by what a template allows. If you can describe it, we can build it.
For a business that depends on its website, yes. Builders are fine for a hobby project or a placeholder, but they come with real costs: slower load times, monthly platform fees that rise over time, and limits on what you can do once you outgrow them.
A custom site is faster, ranks better, looks like your brand, and doesn't box you in. You also get someone who answers the phone when something needs to change, which is the part builders can't sell you at any price.
Yes, and we design for phones first. Most people find local businesses on their phone, so we build the mobile layout before the desktop one rather than shrinking a desktop site down and hoping it holds up. Every site is tested across phones, tablets, and desktops before it goes live.
SEO & Add-Ons
The technical foundation comes standard on every site, from day one: clean semantic HTML, a proper heading structure, title tags and meta descriptions written for each page, descriptive alt text on every image, a sitemap submitted to Google, structured data so search engines understand what your business does and where it operates, and fast load times — speed is a ranking factor, and hand-coded sites are hard to beat on it. Every site we launch scores 100/100 for SEO in Google PageSpeed Insights.
From there we keep working with you over time, shaping page copy around the terms your customers actually search for and adjusting based on what's ranking and what isn't. Nobody can guarantee you the top spot on Google, and you should be skeptical of anyone who does. What we can promise is that your website won't be the reason you're not ranking.
Already working with an SEO consultant? We're glad to work alongside them and implement whatever they recommend.
Yes. Contact forms, calendar booking, live chat widgets, and Google review displays are all things we integrate regularly — plus mailing list signups, payment links, maps, and social feeds. The Growth plan is what you want to go for if you need these things. If you began with the Starter plan and later decide you want them, we can upgrade your site to Growth at any time.
If your business runs on a tool we haven't listed, just ask and we'll get it working.
Yes, upon request. Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing local customers see, so we'll set it up or clean up your existing listing — categories, service areas, hours, photos, and description — and make sure it's consistent with your website. For local businesses it's one of the highest-impact things you can do.
Ecommerce & Shopify
Because for selling products, Shopify is genuinely the right tool. It handles payments, inventory, shipping rates, taxes, and PCI compliance out of the box — all things that are expensive to build from scratch and risky to get wrong.
What we build is the custom part: a store designed around your brand, with custom product and collection pages, configured apps, and integrated shipping. You get a one-of-a-kind storefront on top of infrastructure that's already trusted by millions of businesses, and you can manage your own products without calling us.
It's one-on-one guidance for business owners and their teams on actually running a Shopify store. We cover adding and organizing products, managing inventory, fulfilling and tracking orders, running discounts, reading your analytics, and using the apps we've set up for you.
It's included with every Ecommerce build. Sessions are live, hands-on, and in your own store, not generic videos.
Where We Work
We're based in Brookfield, Connecticut and work with businesses throughout Fairfield County and Litchfield County — including Danbury, New Milford, Newtown, Ridgefield, Bethel, Southbury, and the surrounding towns. Being local means we understand the market you're competing in.
Not at all. Connecticut is home, but we've built sites for businesses across North America. Web design works well remotely — calls, email, and shared design reviews cover everything. Wherever you are, you're working directly with the same US-based designer, not an offshore team.
